Refrigeration Engineer (Seasonal)
The Refrigeration Engineer is responsible for maintaining and repairing the facility’s industrial ammonia refrigeration systems, including tunnel freezers, blast cell freezers, and flake ice production equipment. This position reports directly to the Chief Engineer.
This is a seasonal role, typically running from May through August. Due to the nature of seafood processing, extended work hours are expected during peak production, including 12+ hour shifts, seven days per week as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and repairs on all plant refrigeration systems
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure continuous product flow
Complete all work and required documentation in compliance with the plant’s safety programs
Follow all requirements of the facility’s Process Safety Management (PSM) program for ammonia refrigeration
Maintain safe, organized, and compliant work areas
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualified applicants must meet the following requirements:
18 years of age or older
Authorized to work in the United States
Prior experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems
Ability to work long hours during peak production periods
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Consistent and reliable attendance is essential
Familiarity with basic electrical systems and welding is a plus
Wages & Benefits
Bi-weekly payroll
Overtime pay in Alaska after 8 regular hours per day and 40 hours per week
Transportation provided from the nearest major airport to the worksite and return transportation upon successful completion of the season
On-site housing in communal bunkhouses with shared facilities
Rooms assigned based on gender identity

Cookhouse provides hearty, nutritious meals and snacks
Weekly laundry service provided
Housekeeping staff cleans and sanitizes common areas and restrooms

Payroll Information
Payroll is processed bi-weekly
The workday is defined as a calendar day
The workweek runs Monday through Sunday
