Working Conditions

Noise levels in the work environment are typically loud.

Transportation, Room, and Board

NPSI provides transportation from designated travel points (generally Seattle, WA and Anchorage, AK) to the worksite and return transportation for employees who complete the season. Room and board are provided for employees who remain employed until seasonal layoff.

Employees who leave before the end of the season may be responsible for their own return transportation and will be charged $15 per day for room and board.

Drug-Free Workplace

North Pacific Seafoods enforces a zero-tolerance drug policy. The use, possession, or distribution of any non–medically authorized drugs—including marijuana, medical or otherwise—is strictly prohibited. Employees may be subject to random, post-accident, or for-cause drug testing. NPSI reserves the right to search all plant areas without notice to maintain a drug-free workplace.

Work availability varies based on the wild fishery, and hours cannot be guaranteed.

At-Will Employment

Employment with NPSI is at-will, meaning either the employee or NPSI may terminate employment at any time, with or without notice or cause. This posting does not constitute an employment contract. Only the President or CEO may authorize a written agreement altering at-will employment.
